Terms in full

  1. 1

    Our commitment

1.1 Selling a house is stressful enough. We want everyone to be able to read our guides, understand an offer and contact us without barriers, whatever technology they use.

1.2 We treat accessibility as part of building the site rather than something added at the end.

  2. 2

    What we have done

2.1 The following measures are in place across the site.

    • (a)Semantic headings in order, so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
    • (b)Text and background colour combinations chosen for contrast, with our green used at a weight that stays readable.
    • (c)Every interactive element reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
    • (d)Descriptive alt text on meaningful images and empty alt text on decorative ones.
    • (e)Form fields with real labels, clear error messages and large touch targets.
    • (f)Responsive layouts that work at 200 per cent zoom and on small screens.
  3. 3

    Known limitations

3.1 We are honest about the gaps. Some older embedded media may lack full captions, and a small number of decorative animations may still move for users who have not set a reduced motion preference.

3.2 We fix issues as we find them and welcome reports of anything we have missed.

  4. 4

    Alternative ways to reach us

4.1 If the enquiry form does not work for you, call 07411 211618 and we will take your details over the phone. You can also write to us at 2 Parkhouse Street, Ayr, KA7 2HH.

4.2 We are happy to provide information in large print or plain text, or to speak to a family member or adviser acting for you.

  5. 5

    Reporting a problem

5.1 Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do and what happened. Include the browser and any assistive technology you were using if you can.

5.2 We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within five working days and to fix confirmed issues as quickly as we reasonably can.

  6. 6

    Enforcement

6.1 If you are unhappy with how we respond, you can raise the matter through our complaints procedure. The Equality Advisory and Support Service can also advise on rights under the Equality Act 2010.

What to include when you report a barrier

The more of this you can give us, the faster we can fix it.

  • The web address of the page where the problem happened
  • What you were trying to do at the time
  • What happened instead, in your own words
  • The browser and version you were using
  • Any assistive technology, such as a screen reader or magnifier
  • Your device type and screen size if relevant
  • A screenshot or recording if you are able to send one
  • How you would prefer us to reply to you
